Membership

Connect Locally. Grow Nationally.

SHRM Pine Belt is proud to participate in the Society for Human Resource Management's Dual Membership Release (DMR) Program.

Dual Membership brings together the resources and reach of SHRM with the relationships, professional development, and community available through SHRM Pine Belt.

What is Dual Membership?

Through Dual Membership, Professional Members join SHRM and SHRM Pine Belt through one streamlined membership experience.

Rather than maintaining two separate professional memberships and renewal processes, members can join or renew through SHRM and select SHRM Pine Belt as their local chapter.

SHRM describes DMR as a single application and transaction for SHRM and Chapter membership, with the membership transaction occurring through SHRM.

Why Did SHRM Pine Belt Transition to DMR?

Our goal is to provide members with greater value by connecting national resources with local relationships.

As a Dual Member, you have access to SHRM's extensive professional resources while remaining connected to HR professionals throughout the Pine Belt.

It's the best of both worlds: resources and expertise on a national scale, with professional connections and development opportunities close to home.

The Best of Both: National Resources + Local Connections

Your SHRM National membership connects you to:

  • HR tools, templates, research, and resources
  • Employment law and regulatory updates
  • Professional development and educational opportunities
  • SHRM certification resources
  • National conferences and events
  • A broad network of HR professionals and thought leaders

Your SHRM Pine Belt membership connects you to:

  • Local HR professionals throughout the Pine Belt
  • Chapter meetings and educational programming
  • Networking and relationship-building opportunities
  • Local speakers and timely HR topics
  • SHRM and HRCI recertification opportunities when available
  • Leadership and volunteer opportunities
  • A professional community that understands the HR issues affecting our local employers and workforce

Frequently Asked Questions About DMR

I am already a member of SHRM and SHRM Pine Belt. What do I need to do?
If you currently maintain both memberships, your membership will transition to the Dual Membership model in accordance with SHRM's DMR process. Additional information regarding your renewal will be provided as applicable.

I am a SHRM Pine Belt member but not a SHRM National member. What does this mean for me?
Under the new Dual Membership model, Professional Members of SHRM Pine Belt are required to maintain an active SHRM National membership. Current members who do not have SHRM National membership will be grandfathered in until their membership expiration date. At that time, you would need to renew your SHRM Pine Belt membership and join National SHRM to continue your membership.

What is Dual Membership (DMR)?
Dual Membership brings your SHRM National and SHRM Pine Belt memberships together through one streamlined membership experience. Professional members join or renew through SHRM and select Pine Belt HRA as their local chapter. This will soon be updated to reflect SHRM Pine Belt, instead of our former chapter name, Pine Belt HRA.

Will I pay separate dues to SHRM and SHRM Pine Belt?
Under DMR, your SHRM National and applicable SHRM Pine Belt chapter dues are handled through a single enrollment or renewal transaction through SHRM.

I am already a SHRM National member. Can I add SHRM Pine Belt?
Yes. Existing SHRM members can add SHRM Pine Belt as their local chapter through SHRM's Dual Membership process.
